Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative Selects ReStart as Interoperability Partner for EPR Deployment
ReStart is proud to announce its selection as the interoperability partner for the Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative as they progress towards the implementation of a unified Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system across their three acute Trusts.
About the Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative
The Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative comprises Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals (NNUH), James Paget University Hospitals (JPUH), and Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn (QEH). ReStart has a longstanding partnership with all three Trusts providing integration engine (TIE) support and development for over 10 years. In 2023 ReStart successfully integrated the regional Shared Care Record programme across acute and mental health services which includes the ongoing support of a shared Mirth TIE, further reinforcing our deep understanding of their existing digital landscapes.
Ensuring Seamless Interoperability
ReStart will ensure that 97 remaining systems that are not being replaced by the EPR continue to receive uninterrupted data flow.
Leading the Integration Programme
ReStart will lead the integration programme, managing the end-to-end planning, development, and deployment of interface messaging between local digital systems and the new tri-Trust EPR. Our proven expertise in EPR interface migration and deep familiarity with the region’s integration environments enables us to deliver a robust and reliable integration solution.
Comprehensive Strategy and Delivery Plan
As part of the project, ReStart has delivered a comprehensive integration strategy and costed plan for all three Trusts, encompassing:
- Discovery – System audit, strategy development, and solution design
- Development – Integration build and Patient Master Index (PMI) creation
- Testing – User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and go-live support
- Post-Go-Live – Ongoing support and full documentation
- All three Trusts have committed to a parallel deployment strategy using a ‘Big Bang’ go-live approach, scheduled for March 2026.
“We are thrilled to support the Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative in delivering their EPR vision,” said Geri Boynova, Sales Director, ReStart. “Our team is excited to contribute to a programme that will enhance digital maturity, streamline workflows, and improve patient outcomes across the region.”
