ReStart Achieves DSPT, Cyber Essentials and ISO 42001 Certifications to Support Secure NHS Digital Transformation
ReStart is pleased to announce the successful achievement and renewal of several key accreditations and certifications, including the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), Cyber Essentials and ISO 42001, reinforcing our commitment to information governance, cyber security and responsible innovation.
Achieving the Data Security and Protection Toolkit 2025–26
We have updated our NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) 2025–26 (Version 8), demonstrating our continued alignment with NHS data security and information governance requirements.
The DSPT is the NHS’s self-assessment framework for measuring compliance with national data security standards. It provides assurance that organisations handling NHS data are meeting the requirements needed to protect sensitive information, maintain confidentiality and support safe, secure healthcare delivery. For NHS organisations, suppliers and strategic partners, DSPT compliance provides confidence that robust processes are in place to manage information securely and responsibly.
Continuing Our Cyber Security Commitment
ReStart continues to hold both Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to protecting systems, services and data from evolving cyber threats.
Following the successful renewal of Cyber Essentials in May 2026, we are also preparing for the renewal of Cyber Essentials Plus in July/August 2026. Together, these certifications provide independent verification of the controls and processes we have in place to maintain a strong cyber security posture. As cyber threats continue to evolve, maintaining recognised security certifications helps ensure that our customers can trust ReStart to deliver secure interoperability, integration and information management services that support critical healthcare operations.
Achieving ISO 42001:2023 Accreditation
We are particularly proud to announce that ReStart achieved ISO 42001:2023 accreditation in May 2026.
ISO 42001 is the world’s first international management system standard specifically focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The standard provides a framework for organisations to govern, manage and continually improve the development, deployment and use of AI technologies in a responsible, transparent and accountable manner. As a newly introduced standard, ISO 42001 represents an important milestone in the evolving landscape of AI governance. ReStart is delighted to be among the organisations adopting this framework at an early stage, demonstrating our commitment to responsible innovation and ensuring that emerging technologies are used safely, ethically and effectively.
As AI becomes increasingly important across healthcare and digital transformation programmes, strong governance frameworks are essential to ensuring technologies are deployed responsibly, securely and in ways that deliver meaningful value to organisations and patients.
Supporting NHS Organisations with Confidence
These achievements reflect ReStart’s ongoing investment in governance, security and quality management, providing confidence to NHS organisations, healthcare technology suppliers and strategic partners that we continue to operate to recognised industry standards.
Whether delivering interoperability solutions, healthcare integration services, information management programmes or managed services, ReStart remains committed to helping organisations achieve their digital transformation objectives while maintaining the highest levels of security, compliance and operational excellence.
